The products marketed under the IKO brand have earned a global reputation for their high quality and innovative features.
The corporate philosophy of Nippon Thompson is to contribute to society as an "R&D-Oriented Company." The company aims to be a socially trusted manufacturer and supplier of essential machine components like bearings, while also making a significant contribution to the global industry. By focusing on originality, know-how, and teamwork in their research and development efforts, Nippon Thompson strives to create high-value-added products that best cater to the needs of customers.
Nippon Thompson's product range includes needle roller bearings, motion rolling guides, and mechatronic products. As Japan's first manufacturer of needle roller bearings in 1959, the company has established itself as a pioneer in producing high-quality and precision bearing products. Leveraging their expertise and technology from years of producing needle roller bearings, Nippon Thompson has developed motion rolling guides units that integrate carriages and track rails. These products, starting with the Linear Way introduced in 1978, have become integral components in industrial robots, numerically controlled machine tools, and other sophisticated equipment used in industries like semiconductor manufacturing. Nippon Thompson has also developed a variety of products made from stainless steel and equipped with special lubrication, suitable for demanding applications in clean room environments.
Nippon Thompson manufactures its products at nine plants in Japan and sells them domestically and internationally under the IKO brand. Domestically, the company has nine branches and fifteen sales offices, while internationally, Nippon Thompson is represented by a network of distributors, sales agents, and branch offices in the United States and Europe.
In Europe, Nippon Thompson's affiliate, Nippon Thompson Europe BV, is headquartered in the Netherlands with branch offices in Germany, Spain, France, and the United Kingdom. The branches in Germany, Spain, and the UK have their own warehouses and facilities to customise linear motion products according to customer requirements.
The company takes pride in its environmental policy and commitment to sustainability. Nippon Thompson is dedicated to developing and manufacturing products that enhance the reliability of their customers' equipment while also minimising their impact on the environment. Initiatives like C-Lube and ISO14001 certification are examples of the company's dedication to environmental stewardship.
Nippon Thompson Ltd. holds both ISO9001 and ISO14001 certifications, underscoring their commitment to quality and environmental responsibility.
